This guide provides a simple walkthrough for upgrading the RGB firmware, ensuring your device operates smoothly with the latest features and improvements. This page is intended for Android Auto users who need to perform the firmware upgrade.
Step 1: Prepare for the Upgrade
Before starting, ensure your device is not connected to your car's original Android Auto interface. Instead, use an alternative USB port (such as one on your laptop or a power bank) to power the device during the update. This will prevent any interruptions during the upgrade process.
Step 2: Connect to the Device’s Hotspot
Next, open your phone's Wi-Fi settings and use WLAN Direct Mode (Note: It is mandatory to use WLAN Direct Mode to connect; otherwise, Step 3 will not work!). Select the device's network just like connecting to any other Wi-Fi network.
PS: If you are unsure how to find WLAN Direct, you can try the following steps:
- Go to Settings → Other Wireless Connections → Wi-Fi Direct.
- Go to Settings → Wi-Fi → Additional Settings → Wi-Fi Direct.
Step 3: Access the Firmware Upgrade Interface
Open a web browser on your connected phone. In the browser’s address bar, enter http://192.168.1.101 and press Enter to access the device’s admin panel and switch to the P2P option.
Find the Firmware section. Look for a tab or section labeled 'Firmware Upgrade' or 'Historical Versions', where you can view the current firmware version and available updates.
Step 4: Download and Install the Firmware
Choose the latest firmware version and click the upgrade button next to it. Allow the download and installation to complete. This may take a few minutes, so ensure your phone remains connected to the device’s hotspot throughout the process.
Step 5: Finalize the Upgrade
After the firmware upgrade is complete, you will receive a confirmation that the system update has finished. At this point, you can safely remove the device and then reconnect it to check if it operates normally.
If, after reconnecting the device, it does not work properly and the ambient light shows red, please re-establish the Bluetooth connection to the device.
After reconnecting the device to the car, reconnect your phone to the device’s hotspot and revisit the admin panel via http://192.168.1.101 to confirm that the firmware version has been updated to the latest one.
